Most people meet this inside Photoshop's Generative Fill rather than as a standalone app, and that is the point: the generation step sits where the rest of the retouching already happens. The web app has since become a multi-model hub, letting you run one prompt through Adobe's own models and partner models from Google, OpenAI, Runway, FLUX, Kling and Luma, then compare results side by side on Firefly Boards. Safe to use in paid client work
Adobe states its own Firefly models are trained on licensed and public domain content, that their outputs are safe for commercial use, and that eligible enterprise customers can receive IP indemnification for select outputs. Content Credentials are attached automatically, recording how each file was generated.

The same guarantee does not cover partner models
Adobe says deciding whether a partner model suits a project is the creator's responsibility, weighing how that model was trained and whether it is safe for commercial use. Partner outputs also draw down generative credits, while standard Firefly image features stay unlimited on paid plans.

Adobe gives free daily generations across image, video and audio with no plan at all, including partner models such as Nano Banana and Luma Ray, with limits that refresh every day. Paid tiers add credits for premium output: 2,000 a month on Standard, 4,000 on Pro.
