What is Notion AI?

The pitch is not a better chatbot but a smaller stack: docs, search and the assistant in one place. Notion Agent works across workspace pages, AI Meeting Notes transcribes and summarizes calls, and Enterprise Search reaches into connected Slack, Google Drive and GitHub. The catch is the plan gate, because Notion retired its standalone AI add-on and full AI now sits on the Business tier. If your team already writes in Notion, test it on the trial credits before buying seats; if not, skip it.

Three things Notion AI does best

  1. One search box across your work apps

Enterprise Search queries Notion pages alongside connected tools such as Slack, Google Drive and GitHub, returning an answer with links to the sources. It is useful when knowledge is scattered, but each connector has to be set up by a workspace admin and the feature is a Business-tier item.

  2. Meeting notes that land where you work

AI Meeting Notes records and transcribes a call, then writes a summary and action items straight into a Notion page you can link to a project database. Because the notes are ordinary pages, they stay searchable and editable instead of sitting in a separate transcription tool.

  3. Agents that repeat routine team work

Custom Agents run on a schedule or trigger, filing weekly updates, drafting a report from a database, or tidying properties. They are metered separately: Notion charges $10 per 1,000 monthly credits after the free allowance, and unused credits do not roll over.
